HOW WE STARTED
Back in 2012, Brad Leighninger first created Gettin' Basted, solely as a competition barbecue team. After taking the competition circuit by storm through the next several years, friends Jason Roberts, Tammy Zachary and Derrick Melugin took interest in extending the brand to a food truck housed initially in Springfield, MO. The team quickly outgrew this small-scale concept, and decided to relocate our revolutionary barbecue style to the always hoppin' Branson, MO.
Our first venue was located inside the old Starlight theater in the middle of Branson's Entertainment District... we'll just say that little space didn't hold us for long. In 2017, we invested in our own full service restaurant facility next to the original Baldknobber's Motor Inn in the heart of the Branson strip, which is the same space we occupy today. We are now owners of the Baldknobber's Motor Inn and will be transforming that space into more convenient parking for our restaurant guests AND opening the first Bahama Buck's Shaved Ice franchise in SW, Missouri!
We have also opened an addition corporate location in Nixa, MO and are soon to be celebrating our first franchise location back in the same city where the food truck first launched - Springfield, MO! Additionally in 2017, the same four friends brought their competition pedigree and sensibilities to shake up the traditional English pub concept by launching our sister company, Downing Street Pour House in Hollister, MO. DSPH has since expanded into the Springfield, MO market through an ingenious franchise partner.
One more thing you should know - we've recently twisted all of our concepts together to create Knotty Catering Co. This is simply knot your average catering company, with offerings, packages and services that tie all your dreams together.
